Downtown

Downtown San Antonio holds Alamo Plaza, Main Plaza and the most popular stretch of the River Walk, which was originally built to prevent downtown flooding. On Main Plaza, San Fernando Cathedral houses the oldest continuously functioning religious community, dating to 1731.
