Brooks

Brooks began in 1917 as Brooks Field, an Army Air Corps installation for advanced flight training, and Air Force missions there ended on September 15, 2011, after 94 years. The base was conveyed to the Brooks Development Authority in 2002 and took the name Brooks in 2017, the same year its Hangar 9, a National Historic Landmark, was restored.
